How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) makes your Precision account significantly harder to access without your permission. Even if someone gets your password, they still cannot log in without the code from your phone.

What You Need

An authenticator app on your phone. Google Authenticator, Authy, and 1Password all work. Install one before you start.

How to Enable 2FA

  1. Go to your Profile (click your avatar in the top right).

  2. Scroll to the Security section.

  3. Click Enable next to Two-Factor Authentication.

  4. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code that appears.

  5. Enter the 6-digit code your authenticator app shows.

  6. Click Verify and Enable.

Precision will display 10 backup codes. Save these immediately in a safe place — a password manager works well. Each code can only be used once, and they are the only way to access your account if you lose your phone.

Logging In With 2FA Active

After entering your email and password, Precision will ask for your authenticator code. Open your app, enter the 6 digits, and sign in as normal. The code refreshes every 30 seconds.

Backup Codes

If you cannot access your authenticator app, use a backup code instead of your 6-digit code. Go to Settings, enter the backup code where the 6-digit code would normally go, and you are in.

Used up most of your backup codes? Go to Profile > Security, click Regenerate Backup Codes, enter your password to confirm, and a fresh set of 10 codes will be generated. Your old codes stop working immediately.

How to Turn Off 2FA

Go to Profile > Security and click Disable. You will need to enter your account password to confirm. Your account will return to password-only access.
